An interview with our Marketing and Technical Documentation team

In our interview series, we not only introduce our great team, but our team introduces itself to each other and gets to know itself even better.

In the current interview, Romy (Marketing) and Frank (Technical Documentation) answer the interview questions for each other. A really entertaining thing to do.

For more insight in our team read the interviews of our sales team, purchase and production teamaccounting and assistance team and software developer team..

Here we go:

Why did you choose each other as a team?

Romy: Firstly, because we share an office. What is more, we have birthday on the same date!

Frank: We are largely concerned with the same topics, like our product catalogue and the informative material for our products.

How long have you been part of the solvimus team?

Romy, without hesitating: I know that exactly. Frank started working here on the 1  November 2021. I recall it because this was only recently and because I decorate the workspace with festoons for our new co-workers and I purchase the pralines. Further, our new staff is greeted in our social media postings.

Frank: Romy has been working here since January 2018 at solvimus and she is well-informed about everything in the company. Being a new team member, I benefit from her.

What are your responsibilities at the company?

Romy: Frank is charged with the technical documentation and also translates into English and French. This is a great aide to us. He also proofreads my product catalogue and the informative material, and he detects any omission.

Frank: Romy is responsible for marketing and she is steering our social media. She keeps our product information to date and she acts as interface between sales and support. She thus represents our company to the outside world and engineers communication paths to thrill our customers.

Describe yourself in one sentence!

Romy describes Frank: He is very meticulous and any error catches his eye, he is asking a lot and digs deeper till everything is correct. And he is a very quiet office mate!

Frank describes Romy: She, too, is a very calm office mate and stands out by her friendly and even-tempered nature. This is why we get along so easily.

What is the first thing you do in the office in the morning?

Romy: I drop in first, and I can state that Frank puts his launch in the fridge and takes care that the sunlight is not dazzling him.

Frank: I could relocate to the third desk in our office, but I’d have my back towards the door which is also unpleasant.
Romy drops in very early, and only Lord knows what Romy is doing first here. I get up at about the time when she starts work at around 7. *laughing*

What’s the biggest challenge in your work?

Romy: For Frank, it is definitively that all technical data match throughout the documentation. Intimately related is the detailed understanding of our devices and the creation of a unified terminology in the documentation. And of course the dazzling sun. *laughing*

Frank for Romy: She has to edit the content for our social media, the homepage and our blog, and has to envisage and implement our marketing campaign. She has to assemble information from outside and from within the company.

What is your favourite product of solvimus and why?

Romy: For Frank, it is the MUC.easyplus. He had intimate contact with it for a few days when assigned to the production team. The MUC is polyvalent and interesting as it combines almost all functionalities of our diverse portfolio.

Frank: Romy is also fond of this device, for similar reasons. Simply because the MUC.easyplus offers that many functions. For marketing, that is highly practical as the MUC.easyplus is, so to say, the “showroom model” and it is easy to highlight it.

What makes the team so special for you?

Romy: Frank appreciates the calm atmosphere and the quick communication in the entire team.

Frank: I can confirm that. The atmosphere reveals respect for one’s competencies, and one feels integrated into the team. Competencies are appreciated here, and this translates into respect for one’s professional standing.
Oh, I need to reply for Romy *laughing*. I am sure that this makes it special also for Romy to work here.

What bothers you about your team?

Romy: Frank likes to spice his lunch with garlic. The team had to notice this at multiple occasions from the air in our office. Ever since, Frank is authorised to eat garlic only on Fridays, Saturdays and the day before a holiday. *laughing*

Frank: Whatever it takes for the team. Romy dislikes that I dislike the sunlight and I close the blinds at the slightest sunray. *laughing*

If you could change one thing, what would you change at solvimus?

Romy for Frank: Perhaps a lift? But we will soon get a freight lift. Regrettably, it is too small for persons.

Frank for Romy: If something is disturbing here, we will tackle it. Disregarding garlic, Romy never complained to me. She is even-tempered.

What’s your personal motivation at work?

Romy: Frank has already replied in a prior question. The very fact that he can work independently, that suggestions are welcome and that he can contribute substantially implies a great motivation for him.

Frank: Right, quite the opposite to my prior positions.
Romy enjoys that one can chat with co-workers also about other things than just work, that all are open-minded and friendly. Simply the team that we constitute.

Thank you both for your replies. We are glad you are a part of solvimus!
