For today, we have invited our new co-worker in manufacturing, Jan.
Jan joined us on 01 August and supports us at the interface between manufacturing, commissioning, and product recycling.
Also, he is a real Ilmenau character and a really nice guy.
If you were asked to describe yourself with a film title, which one would it be?
Ever since my childhood I adore Karl May, and thus: “Winnetou – Treasure of Silver Lake”.
What did you do before joining solvimus?
I have been an electronics technician all my life, and I had various jobs in radio and television technology, antenna manufacturing and the repair and installation of electronic devices. But deep inside my heart I am a technician – and here I have this liberty.
How did you get to know solvimus?
By my fitness centre! I participated in a variety of sport courses during my rehab, and the trainer told me that his team holds a weekly sports course at solvimus. That made me curious and I searched on the internet – and when reading the blog posts and co-worker interviews, I wanted to get a personal impression of that. And now I am myself here in the interview!
What do you like most at your job?
I enjoy assembling and soldering, and I appreciate testing after (successful) troubleshooting and repair – these little achievements are encouraging.
What is your favourite product of solvimus?
No doubt, the GE20! I like the entire GE series, but the GE20 represents the perfect mix between small, handy & charming. And its operation is intuitive. 😉
How well can you combine employment and family/leisure?
I finally have again a good work-life-balance with more time for my family and hobbies. I regularly go swimming after work in the Ilmenau pool and I am involved in the Manebach football club.
solvimus is located in Ilmenau, Thuringia. What characterises the region?
The locals! In general, Thuringians are honest, nice and everyone whoever came here got the impression that it is like holidays. Not to be forgotten: we also have the best bratwurst and great beer.
What do all solvimus staff have in common?
Everyone wants that the company to be successful & states what is important to achieve that. I general, everything is addressed frankly and one realises that people enjoy working here.
